Garbhaadhaan (conception), Punsawan (conception confirmed), Simantonnayan (development mental powers),Jaatkarm(birth), Naamkaran (naming of child), Nishkraman (taking child outside), Annpraashan (feeding cooked meal), Churaakarm (shaving hair), Karnvedh (piecing ears), Upnayan (wearing sacred thread), Veda-arambh (commencing study),  Samaawartan (graduation), Vivaah (marriage), Vaanaprastha (entrance into the phase of reflection and meditation),  Sanyaas (ascetic), Antyeshti (cremation)
